Verzuz: Holy Shade!

Holy Shade!

I know many of you tuned in to watch Verzuz Easter special with Mary Mary vs. Bebe & Cece Winans; but if you missed it, it’s okay because we’re VARR and were here to fill you on the tea. From here on out VARR is here to give you all your Christian updates. So what happened?

First, let’s talk about some of the celebrities in the building, The legendary Stevie Wonder, Sista Tabitha Brown, Brotha Major, Brotha Flex Alexander, and Sista Deborah Joy Winans. And let me tell you, they were in the crowd turnt!

The Easter Special was hosted by Comedian Kevon On Stage, who was completely star-struck once Mary Mary and Bebe & Cece Winans hit the stage. He also stated a FACT! “Cece Winans is the most saved person in the world”, I mean who wants to argue that? Then Kevon proceeded to flip a coin asking who wants heads or tails, Bebe started the smack talk  with some fire stating,” it doesn’t matter, they can go first or last it won’t make a difference!” But yall already know Tina Campbell never been a lame and came back with “ Yall know Bebe ain’t been out in a while he’s a little excited.” The SHADE has started people of God! But it wasn’t all shade, Bebe & Cece Winans’s first Album came out in 1987, yea way before most of us were born. Cece needed a little help reaching some of the notes she use to hit in the late ’80s and you know like good Christian Mary Mary helped sing her songs for her. AWWWW, welp that aww doesn’t last long, Bebe asks Mary Mary, why don’t they write songs about their real life? Wait What! Has he not heard Believer, Survive, Destiny, and Get up. Mary Mary gives us a lot of personal stories in their music. Also, did yall know that Pastor Marvin L. Winans nickname is Uncle Peanut.

Erica Campbell gave us a sample of her new song “Positive” yea I’m positive, positive, see you all I’m humming the song while I am writing y’all now; So, make sure you check her out. And like good ole Verzuz fashion the Instagram live went out, when Mary Mary sang Yesterday, but y’all know what they sang it again for the Gram. Mary Mary and Bebe & Cece Winans ended the battle with both of their songs titled “Heaven”.

Omg, Stevie graced us with some powerful words to end the night, giving us hope for our future. Stevie Wonder deemed Verzuz Easter Special a Tie!
